Presenting Our Salted Caramel French Toast

“And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair
As the dining room proudly presents
Your… breakfast!”

Not even Beast’s magic castle could conjure up this delicious brunch treat. If you’re looking for hearty comfort food that blends two of your favorite morning delights, we have the sweetest rush just for you. The truest comfort treat for the palate, only at Hearthstone, will you find this twist on the classic French Toast.

Salted Caramel French Toast. But as all things Vegas, we push the barriers of “classic” into extravagant, with this variation. In lieu of traditional sliced bread, powdered sugar and maple syrup, we turned this dish upside down, with our Cinnamon Sticky Bun, topped with hazelnuts, drizzled with banana maple syrup & fresh huckleberries.

Where did French Toast Come From?

The earliest known reference to French toast is in the Apicius, a collection of Latin recipes dating to the 4th or 5th century; the recipe mentions soaking in milk, but not egg, and gives it the name of just aliter dulcia, sweet dish.

In France, the dish is called “pain perdu,” meaning “lost bread.” Why lost bread? Originally, people made French toast from stale bread in order to make use of bread that would otherwise have been thrown away. You’ll find “Pain Perdu” dishes in New Orleans style Creole restaurants, due to their French influence and history.

Restaurants usually serve french toast with butter, maple syrup and powdered sugar, but the possibilities are endless… which is why we created our lush Salted Caramel dish.
