What is a Pizzaiolo?

Here at Hearthstone, we are always proud of the new and innovative dishes that make their way on to our menu.  This is why we are continuously one of the best and most beloved restaurants in all of Las Vegas.  While anyone who has visited our establishment before will tell you that we have great appetizers, wine lists and main dishes, one of the things that really sticks out when dining at Hearthstone is the pizza.

So, what exactly is a Pizzaiolo?

A Pizzaiolo is a chef who specializes in making pizzas and who has been trained to make real, Italian-style pizzas. Here at Hearthstone, we know that in a foodie market such as Las Vegas, you need to really be able to deliver the world’s best food.  This is why we didn’t just trust our pizza recipes to anyone, we hired our own Pizzaiolo.

Here’s a little more about our Pizzaiolo, Enzo Esposito.

Enzo was born in Naples, Italy…aka the birthplace of pizza, and comes from a long line of pizzaiolos.  Simply put, he knows pizza better than most of us could ever imagine.  In fact, when people ask him when he first started making pizza, he doesn’t even remember as he started so young and has always known it was what he was born to do.

Enzo’s great-great-grandfather, grandfather and uncle were all pizzaiolo, Enzo has been following in their footsteps working in family-owned pizzaerias since he was just 13 years old. Enzo has made pizzas in Naples, eventually came to New York City to start bringing his gift to America.  From the moment we tasted Enzo’s pizzas here at Hearthstone, we knew that we had to have him, and now he is our Executive Pizzaiolo.

We couldn’t be more proud to have Enzo on our team here at Hearthstone and we couldn’t be more excited that we get to share his talents with our patrons.
